Bryan Potter :: North PM
Potter is a Sanitary Engineer for the Fresno Country Department of Public Health but prefers to refer to himself "as a 'Staff Engineer' so people don't think that (he) is a trash man." Managing people as a "Staff Engineer," is a fitting occupation for Potter who is a natural leader with a degree in Civil Engineering from California State University, Fresno.
His leadership abilities became apparent to Worship Director, Brent Lamb, in the fall of 2008 causing Lamb to appoint Potter as a Volunteer Band Leader. Potter is one of our most dependable Band Leaders and ministry pioneers within The Well Worship Ministry. He was the first Volunteer Band Leader to transition his team from standard chord charts to Nashville Numbers chord charts and implement the use of a click track during worship services. His team has served faithfully two to three Sundays a month at the North Campus' evening services since the fall of 2008 and has provided support for lead vocalists Chris Beery, Lacy Warne, and Joey Parker.
Although not appointed to leadership until 2008, Potter is no stranger to The Well Worship Ministry. He has attended The Well for six years and has been involved with The Well Worship Ministry for four years. Potter came to The Well with plenty of worship experience! He has participated in worship teams for ten years, beginning at the church he grew up attending in his hometown of Madera, CA and has played guitar for 12 years.
Christian camps have also sought after Potter to participate in and lead worship teams for youth. Potter has provided worship at Hartland Christian Camp for six years as well as Camp Sugar Pine and other Christian camps. He is also a featured musician on The Well Worship's first studio project, "Reign In Us" released December 2009.
Despite the fact that Potter's current business card reads "Sanitary Engineer," he is a musician by all standards. Instead of being confused as a "trash man," Potter's dream job would involve music as an occupation, not simply a hobby. He'd love to play, write, produce, and record music. While he does enjoy playing sports, hanging out with friends, playing xbox, and watching movies; most of his hobbies revolve around music. He spends much of his free time playing and practicing music, reading about music, and learning about guitar gear.
Potter personally owns four guitars; a '62 Fender Stratocaster Reissue, a Godin Artisan ST (late 80s/early 90s model), a Gibson ES 333, and a Larrivee D-09, but says "as a guitar player you can never own enough gear." He currently has his eye on aGibson Les Paul that he'd like to add to his collection but jokes that his "economic plan" hasn't agreed with this addition.
